Dingbat is a special shape balloon that travels to Balloon Festivals and events to tell everyone how he gets to fly so high.
Dingbat promotes staying in school and studying hard so you can fly way up high just like him!
Hot Air Balloons are always a big draw at any event. Our goal is to share our great experiences we've had flying Hot Air Balloons, and to show the younger generation with a little hard work at school, you could do this too!
We are based Central New York.
About the pilots:
Peter Griswold is the owner and lead pilot for Dingbat. He, like Dingbat, is living the dream of flying high in the sky! As a second generation balloon pilot Peter was exposed to ballooning by his father at age 2. At age 14, he started his training in Hot Air Balloons and obtained his first FAA Pilots license before his drivers license. At age 18 he achieved his FAA commercial pilot's license and took the reigns of the family's corporate and passenger ride ballooning business.
Peter's passion for flying extends to airplanes also. He is a full time professional pilot for a private company in the southern tier of NY. Peter holds an Airline Transport Pilots License and is rated to fly Jets, single and multi engine aircraft as well as seaplanes.
Peter enjoys sharing his passion for flying and his story of how a little hard work in school pays off in a high flying way! His professionalism, customer service skills, charisma and friendly nature make him easy to work with in all applications.
Peter shares his passion with his 2 youngsters, Ella and Chase, who love to come play with their big brother Dingbat!
Scott Griswold is Peter's younger brother and flies Dingbat as well as operates his own Hot Air Balloon ride business in Syracuse, NY Above All Balloon Rides. He shares Peter's passion for flying balloons and was trained by Peter. Scott's gregarious nature and passion for flight translate into a great experience. He always says "If you have half as much fun as I do you'll have more fun than you"ll ever expect!"
